Learn how to build, install and maintain your own rain barrel. The Stream Team will provide all supplies including the barrel, hardware and tools. The cost of supplies is included in the registration fee of $35*.

Rain barrels allow you to capture a free resource (rainwater!) to use on your lawn or garden, for washing your car or for cleaning tools. Rain barrels help decrease runoff to Lake Champlain by capturing and holding rain water during a storm, and that means cleaner water for everyone.

You are welcome to attend the workshop as an individual, a pair or as a family. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times for safety reasons. The cost of registration is per-barrel, not per-person.

First priority will be given to BURLINGTON RESIDENTS. If you live in another community, we will put your name on a wait-list and inform you by April 22nd if spaces remain in the workshop.

All participant MUST wear close-toed shoes. Participants are encouraged to bring their own work gloves and safety glasses.

* A limited number of scholarships are available for participants with financial need. Contact Kristen Balschunat for more information about the scholarship program or with general questions. kristen@winooskinrcd.org or (802) 288-8155 x104
