15 Aug Essex Rain Barrel Workshop
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Essex Fire Station
190 Sand Hill Rd.
UPDATE: If we are unable to gather together for a workshop due to Covid-19 recommendations we will make kits available for curbside pickup on the day of the event for people who have registered. Kits will include barrels with pre-drilled holes and all required hardware. Only 40 spaces are available, so register today!
Learn how to build, install and maintain your own rain barrel. The cost of supplies is included in the registration fee of $40. Barrels will be constructed out of up-cycled plastic 55 gallon drums.
Rain barrels allow you to capture a free resource (rainwater!) to use on your lawn or garden, for washing your car or for cleaning tools. Rain barrels help decrease runoff to Lake Champlain by capturing and holding rain water during a storm, and that means cleaner water for everyone.
Each participant may bring one guest. Children over the age of ten are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times for safety reasons. The cost of registration is per-barrel, not per-person.
Click here to register. Two sessions will be offered with a max of 20 barrels per session. Session 1: 9:00am-10:00am Session 2: 11:00am-12:00pm
First priority will be given to residents of the TOWN of ESSEX. If you live in another community, we will put your name on a wait-list and inform you by July 15th if spaces remain open in the workshop.
All participant MUST wear close-toed shoes. Participants are encouraged to bring their own work gloves and safety glasses.
