Help Us Find the Next Rain Garden Site in Your Town!
Stormwater runoff can carry pollution into our rivers and lakes. Rain gardens help by soaking up rainwater and filtering out harmful materials before they reach our waterways.
Now we need your help to decide where the next rain garden should go.
Your Challenge is to look around your neighborhood, school, park, or downtown area. Is there a place where water collects after it rains? Maybe near a storm drain, sidewalk, or parking lot?
Draw a picture or write a short paragraph explaining:
- Where you would put a new rain garden
- Why that location needs one
- What kinds of native plants or pollinators you would include
This activity will help the Rethink Runoff stream team choose future locations for our Adopt-a-Rain-Garden program. Your idea could help improve water quality and beautify your community.
One lucky winner will receive a homemade rain barrel from our Rain Barrel Workshop to take home and use in their own backyard.
