Rain gardens retain and reuse rainwater from surfaces such as rooftops, driveways, or parking lots to prevent adverse stormwater impacts. Students in this course will learn the principles and design techniques used for planning, building and maintaining a rain garden. This course will cover background science, site investigation, permitting, design, plant and material selection and installation. In the design studio, students will design a rain garden for a site of their choosing. On the job site, students will work together to install a rain garden for a client.

Taking place June 20th at 9am to June 25th at 5pm on the Waitsfield Campus.
